I have a Vietnamese friend that received a degree from the U of MN, more or less by copying papers of students that took the class a year or two earlier. I discovered it by being talked into proofreading some of his papers...and he didn't understand the meaning of a number of the words that he was trying to use.
The irony is that when I thought about it I realized that in the 'real' world if you can get other people to do your work then you may very well be successful. lol.
Western cultures are unusually independent so a part of me can see how they might approach education differently as well. |
