Indicating a religion on various HR forms is definitely preferrable to having none, except perhaps for Judaism. You should have no problems whatsoever with being Buddhist.

My school's PRO told me that they were only interested in hearing "Muslim", "Christian", or "Hindu". This, of course, came up when I listed myself as a Hellenist (Hellenistic Polytheism: Eris, Dionysius, etc. Sure, the gods don't exist, but they throw a hell of a party!). The school, unfortunately, got peeved because the word "Hellenist" contains the word "Hell" - so I had to disabuse them of the notion that I was a Satanist. *sigh* |

Which is why we say over and over... don't be creative... don't try to be cute... don't try to be honest.
Just put Christian and forget about it...

| I wrote "Buddhist" in the appointed space and since then the only thing I've heard about it is from posters to this board. No one at Dubai airport said a thing; in fact I was waved through the retinal scan and customs. Likewise at school. There has been no discussion about religion, except a short briefing on Ramadan for the newbies. |
