Dear saharastars,

Everyone is a foreigner and an alien - to someone else.

Oh, there were a lot more than that.

I agree.

To read John's list, one would assume that the only victims of 'terrorism' in the world have been Americans, and that America's actions in the Middle East have been entirely benign and could in no way encourage deep resentment among the locals.

I can remember a US airline counter at some European airport being bombed, killing children; a TWA hijacking; bombing a night club in Germany frequented by US servicemen.

Do you also remember the USS Vincennes shooting an Iranian civilian aircraft out of the sky, killing all 290 men, women and children on board? In fairness, it would be easy not to remember, since the event is almost never mentioned in US media, and the US has never apologised for the incident.

(That one prompted Reagan's bombing of Khadafi's compound, and after that K. mellowed a bit.)

I take it you don't buy into the theory that the newly 'mellowed' Lybia bombed PanAm Flight 103 in retaliation for this attack, in which Gadafi's baby daughter was killed but the man himself escaped unscathed?

Dear Cleopatra,,

"To read John's list, one would assume that the only victims of 'terrorism' in the world have been Americans, and that America's actions in the Middle East have been entirely benign and could in no way encourage deep resentment among the locals."

Which is why it is called:

"Terrorist Attacks
(within the United States or against Americans abroad)
The following timeline lists terrorist attacks against the United States and Americans living either in the U.S. or abroad."

I hope you'll excuse my thinking you made quite a leap of an inference to suggest that a list of terrorist attacks clearly labeled as consisting of incidents ONLY involving American victims somehow suggests that America is blameless.

Regards,
John

I know from your other posts that you are not stupid or naive enough to believe that.

However, if all I had to go on was your post in this thread, I have to say that I would think rather differently. Tha'ts why I said "To read John's list,..." If you post three links (one of them from a far-right website) which are only concerned with American victims of terrorism, you do lay yourself open to such an accusation.
