Well, do you think Wikipedia should change the definition of 'maroon colour' to ' definitely not dark red'! |
I don't care what Wikipedia says, nobody refers to the EU passport as 'red', dark or otherwise.

| I say then why would Omar go to Saudi soils if he has the opportunity to work in the west regardless of he is of the rest? I mean how comes the Saudis ignore this reality? |
And I think you ignored my post!
The fact of the matter is that KSA (and the other Gulf countries) offer salaries to people from, say, Asia or the Middle East, which although not attractive to people from Europe or the US, are very attractive to people from the regions mentioned above. Therefore, there are plenty of Pakistanis or Egyptians, for example, who are quite happy to go and work in KSA for salaries which an American or Brit would never consider. That's the reality of it.

| everybody knows that Omar has the qualifications to work in Sweden, UK, South Korea, Finland.... and he will go somewhere else. |
Realistically, how many Asians or Arabs are going to get visas to work as academics in the countries you mention? If I thought I could get a good job in Sweden, I'd be packing my bags right now, and as an EU citizen I don't even need a visa or work permit to live there.
The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of "Omars" willing to work for salaries and conditions which Westerners would not find accceptable. The Saudis know this, and adjust their salaries accordingly. I am not saying this is right, just that it's how it is. I think it is you who are ignoring reality here! |

| I have never heard of an American or British teacher being paid more than an Irish teacher with the same credentials. |
Plenty of places offer different salaries for Brits and Americans. Sometimes it is because they pay in dollars or pounds, sometimes for obscure historical reasons.
And from 2004-2006 all British teachers at JIC got 10% more than other Westerners to compensate for the exchange rate. |

Employers like Vinnell Arabia who provide training to the Saudi National Guard.

BAe and Aramco have people who earn in Pounds. Defaa, formerly Lockheed, and Aramco also have employees who get their monthly pay in US$
I am worried now that I have contradicted the Queen of the Nile. I shudder to contemplate the punishment that may be meted out when I visit her Dominions. |

I asked a question. I didn't make a statement.
So far, with the exception of Aramco, all of the few employers who pay in pounds or $ are foreign military contractors, not Saudi organisations or colleges. I'd still like to hear about the 'plenty of' employers who pay Brits and Americans differently. |

Don't worry, Uncle Scott, as far as Octavian is around, the Queen of the Nile cannot punish you! |
