A few good points in reply...I fear we've gone a bit off-topic here(I'll take my share of the blame). Some points need to be addressed....

cv: No, I don't have a decent CO...I'm long gone from JET(damn!). All I can say is the JET yrs. were the best 3 yrs. of my life. I couldn't get access to your CIR site link. From my own experience, from the (admittedly few) CIRs I knew, they seemed pleased with their jobs.

Many of us are guilty of "painting w/a wide brush." I guess I'd put myself there the odd time. I knew many JETs who were fine guys/gals but, yeah, IMHO, more than a few of them were snotnoses. When I finished JET, I(regrettably) went to an eikaiwa where, I worked w/other barbarians who were far more "down to earth" than JETs were. Sure, we didn't always see eye to eye , and the job sucked a lot more than the JET gig, but I had more fun socially w/my eikaiwa colleagues.
