Dear cassava,
I could, of course, be mistaken, but I suspect that Qaaolchoura may already have a pretty good idea of "the true nature of the world in which we live."
Those of us who battle addiction often do.
Regards,

Do you lift weights?
I ask because I am fat. I teach high school. I got some flak at first from the jocks. But then they found out that I benched more than they do. And after that I got respect.
The key is to lift weights. I have been fat all my life and I tell you now that some basic diets won't work. You need to rebuild your body. That takes a lot of time with weights and a lot of protein and supplements. At the end of the day you have to jump up and make it happen. |

| Thick skin is the key phrase I think. Especially if you're prone to bouts of depression you need to be able to bat the blunt comments away without it having a negative effect on your mood, in China especially I think you'll need a real mental strength. I'm a UK size 10 but the women here regularly suggest I should do more exercise or eat more tomatoes (they help you lose weight). But I've also noticed that these women have preoccupation with their own looks and weight, and are always complaining they 'have too much meat' on their bodies (they look like children). None of this affects teaching ability though, if you're good at your job they should be lucky to have you teaching their students regardless of what you look like. |
