So, like peachy earlier in this thread, I'm married. I don't know what these "dorm rooms" are all about so I don't know if my wife and I would want to live there. For those of you that have experience with Peppy, do they allow people to look for other housing, and do they allow married people to apply?

Thanks so much for the info, those links were quite helpful. My wife and I aren't looking for a lot of space. We aren't vagabonds but we just don't care to own a lot of stuff.

The apartment we've lived in for 3 years now (this is in the US), it's 2 BR 2 BA at about 1000 square feet. We could do without the extra bedroom and bathroom but keep it for visiting friends and such, not so much for storing our stuff.

Do you get the sense that the dorm rooms with Peppy each have their own bathroom? That was sort of what I was worried about...we don't mind a lack of space but I've heard stories of one bathroom per floor sometimes and that wouldn't work too well for us.

Peppy does not have 'dorm' rooms. They're usually 1K apartments. No shared bathrooms, you have your own.

Thanks for posting the video. I have no clue where I will located at after training at this point since I was probably one of the last people to be accepted for the position and all my paperwork ended up being done very quickly.

Very excited for my future with Peppy Kids Club.

I ran into your blog prior to your posting. Been doing a bunch of research prior to leaving as it will be my first time living in a foreign country. Its a great resource and thanks for posting it. You've lived in an apartment of 1000 square feet. Can you do the same in one less than a 5th of that? I hope you and your wife are not claustrophobic and never argue. Because short of one of you closing yourself in the bath cubicle, there will be no way to get away from one another if you have even a small dispute.

How big do you think the apartment in the vid was? You think any 1k apartment is going to be much larger even out of the cities? I don't live in a major city, but a 1k here doesn't get much bigger. The sizes of a 1k often don't vary too much from location to location; it's the rent thats different.

And no, I've never been married. But I have been with my bf longer than you have known your wife.
I'm not talking about walking away from the problem. I'm talking about space for a time-out so that you can calm down and then discuss and solve the issue like rational adults. I've seen enough healthy relationships where people are unable to make much headway in a dispute whilst one or both of the participants are emotionally charged.
And also, it is easy to allow little things to irritate when you are living one on top of each other. Even worse during the already high stress settling period when you first arrive and are not yet adjusted to life here.
