Thanks again Dynow.

We're planning on leaving around the end of next Summer or so. Might as well enjoy the few months that you can be outside.

One more question. I read somewhere that closing a sole proprietorship is much more difficult than opening one. I was hoping that you could perhaps keep us up-to-date on your experience closing yours down. I can imagine reams more of papers needed to show that you don't owe any back taxes/ZUS etc.

honestly, it wasn't bad at all.

a trip to the town hall to notify them that i'm closing it down and then a trip to the tax office to essentially do the same. i'm meeting with my accountant this week to do my end of the year taxes which should be fairly simple, she's just going to do what she does every year, she'll get her final payment from me, and that'll be all.

yeah, good idea. i'm so glad everything worked out with our paperwork so that we can leave right after new year's, this means we dodge that oh so delightful polish weather in january/february/march/april. where we're headed, there's essentially no winter so once we're outta here, winter simply comes to an end. i honestly can't wait.

just keep in mind what I said about how long the process takes. if you want to be out in August, start your paperwork in February. my process took 4 months (without any hitches) and there's no telling how long the next person's will take.

trust me, by getting that visa 2-3 months before your projected moving date, it makes your life much much easier. the two of you can simply plan how and when you want to leave and the visa won't even be an issue. bureaucracy, or shall I say, additional bureaucracy is something you simply do not want during your last month or two in poland Wink
