Well, Shiekh Nano, I re-iterate what VS told you, that you are being arrogant to assume that you are the only one here who can make a balanced judgement, but it seems you have proved that you are wrong, one sided, pro-Uncle Sam, and having a black hole in your mind in the darkness of Qassim. Laughing

Bias exists within major USA newspapers, especially New York Times, the preferred media of Shiekh Nano!

Dear 007,

Ah, but the bias that exists within the NYT pales in comparison to the bias that exists within you.

Regards,
John

Ah, John, but I am not a newspaper or a media which can influence the opinions of the public, and my views are for myself and not for public.
NYT bias is more dangerous because it influences a majority of the American people (like Sheikh Nano) and affect their views!
So, the difference between the NYT and me, is like the difference between the Earth and the Sun! Laughing

Dear 007,

Ah, but the people who actually read the NYT are almost always those who simply get their opinions confirmed by that paper.

Your views, as posted on here, are not only for yourself. We are "your public."

But again, there's no danger because we all know how you feel about "Uncle Sam."

"So, the difference between the NYT and me, is like the difference between the Earth and the Sun! "

Acoording to the parallelism in that sentence, the NYT is the Earth and you are the sun. But I think the real sun is much brighter Very Happy

Regards,
John

Dear John,

Yes, but does the CIA brag about having plants within 007 who do the Agency's bidding?

(Wait. Didn't 007 work for MI6? I'm getting confused here as memory fails...)

Cheers,
Korn

Hardly. The reality is that a "majority" of Americans very likely don't even know what the NYT is... and have never read it...

Well, if some of you are bored with the NYT you might consider an adventure in the Canadian ROCKIES.

Inserting opinion into a hard news piece is not how I was taught print journalism, nor did I ever employ that tactic. In fact, that is traditionally a very continental-European system, where in some countries each newspaper is affiliated with a particular political party...or at least used to be when I lived there.

Opinions belong on the Op-Ed page. For hard news, it's not a difficult concept: 1. You learn how to write. 2. You learn how to research and interview. 3. You get the truth to the people as best you can. The NYTimes is not a propaganda organ.

As I said--it's not very difficult to understand. I do realize that there is a grey area of "new journalism" features that can pick and choose which topics appeal to the writers and editors. Those people are human. But personally I took pride in the 3 rules above.

I imagine you're thinking of the Palestinian problems. The NY Times has always covered both sides of those issues, and has devoted many long articles to the plight of the Palestinians, not just the other side. You need to look closer to home, such as in Dubai, where the local media accused us of being a bunch of Israelis at the Women's College! You have neither read the NY Times nor would you understand the content if you did. People in the Middle East have ways of doing things such as the way they runt heir media, and they just assume everyone else does the same.
