Not exactly in the same vein, but I threw up in a classroom. I had consumed Vietnamese crab soup at lunchtime. In my 5 o'clock class, the soup made a reappearance in barely altered form. I was standing at the chalkboard when it happened. Splash!! Splash!! and Splash!! again. This is what the students faces looked like: Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Dear khmerhit,
Well, look on the bright side - better you throwing up than all your students doing so.
Regards,
John

During the first week of my first year (Nagoya, Japan), I had to teach a trial lesson for a sister-brother combo (4 yrs and 2 respectively). We were playing a game and running around the table, when suddenly the young lad stops. I stop as well, wondering what is happening. I watch in shock as he shakes a turd from his pant leg onto the floor, and continues running like nothing has happened! The admin entered and kindly cleaned up the biological obstacle from our midst.

Smile

I teach adults in a business environment now. The aforementioned example doesn't happen nearly as often anymore. Smile

Oh Dear!

You do remember to pack some air-freshener on those days, I trust?

This is a story told to me by a student in Chile. Though it sounds like an urban legend, she swore it actually happened to a friend of hers.
Her friend had brought home her boyfriend to meet the parents. The boyfriend excused himself to go to the bathroom, as he had eaten something earlier which was causing a bit of intestinal distress. After finishing, and worrying about the impression he was leaving behind, he emptied the better part of a can of aerosol air freshener in the bathroom. Then, just before he left, he decided to light a cigarette.
While he wasn't seriously disfigured in the resulting explosion, there was to be no wedding.

Ollie, I recommend Efes beer and Iskender kebab. It usually gets the desired effect.

Steiner, Lynn, thanx for the dating tips. Now I understand why I'm to single ..too much the gentleman. I guess you have to let it rip sometimes.

Do you think this techinique onle works with someone from your country, or do you think it will work with a Chinese friend? Would it be more effective in a social setting, such as dinner at her parents house? Or strictly in a more private setting?

Dear khmerhit,
Which provides yet further proof that smoking CAN be hazardous to one's health.
