Have you tried dining in colonia Roma, just across Insurgentes from Condesa? Prices are much more reasonable and you can find some decent Italian, French, and Russian. |
No I haven't. And wasn't by any means trying to come off as negative. I'm going back to the U.S. for a week in a few days then coming back here. Any recommendations on places to dine in Roma? Thanks! |

I forgot to mention my other idea for making money here- a boutique neck brace shop. I think if done correctly, I could overtake Carlos Slim in a few years |

I am curious as to know any guy that walks into a McDonald's in the U.S. and within three years is making $60,000. That sounds more than unrealistic. If I'm wrong- please send me a link and maybe I'll be selling happy meals in my near future. |
Yes it is possible, and I've just sent you a PM with some more info. |

Take a walk down Orizaba street, either north or south of Alvaro Obregon...there are a few places in the 2 or 3 glorietas with fountains in the middle and some restaurants ringing them.
It takes a lot of hunting around and trial and error in a city this big to find the good spots. 10 years on and this foodie is still always on the prowl for another good place to eat.
I found some pretty good Korean in GDL when I was working there and if that's your thing, the back streets of Zona Rosa have some very good offerings. |

Nice one! Add to that a serviette factory (serviettes with everything), rubber stamp maker (all that bureaucracy) and Comex paint bucket recycling. |

I have traveled all over Mexico and there is a great need in many areas. I recommend getting involved in any community you land in and volunteer. I imagine that the reason why we are compelled to move to another country, especially one with such extreme poverty is that we feel we have something to offer. Of course, people have more to teach us than we do to teach them. So, search your heart. What do you like to do? What is important to you in the long run? You can start out small and then take those steps to move into something different. When you are truly happy, your experience will affect so many lives but of course, affect you the most! |
