interesting to note that i was warned by some folks back home to bring "good" tooth paste and other typical toiletries because "you just can't find them in saigon." that turns out to be untrue - got my favorite shampoo (johnson's baby) at wellcome and they have my favorite brand of toothpaste (aqua fresh) etc etc etc.

They do have everything here but it's not the same. It might look the same on the outside but the quality is quite different. Even Coke and Pepsi are different (they use much less syrup here). Once you get settled in you'll notice the differences. |

For good quality facemasks, go to Vincom Plaza on Dong Khoi/Le Than Ton. Go down to B3 and into the supermarket there. Bear left on entering and you should see an end-cap display of facemasks. About 70,000.
Not much use to someone who lives in District 1 or 3 (unless they don't mind commuting), but RMIT university has an excellent sports field, which be about as good as it gets for jogging in HCMC. |

tonyjones01 - you're a bubble burster.
deadlift - thanks heaps for the whereabouts!
interesting to note, this afternoon i spent some time sitting in park 23 - 9 (or whatever it's called, the one across the street from Allez Boo) and, after all the discussion here, was entertained by the fact that several people were engaged in the act of trotting round and round, including a rather tall germanic looking youthful rugby player type guy, and not one of them was wearing a mask. there were however some strollers who had them on (people, not prams).
this place is a hoot! |
