When I was in Iran, the local English teachers were hardly paid enough to survive, and many still lived at home. The wage was about 1 - 2 Australian dollars an hour.
I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a working VISA there either. However, I would highly recommend Iran as a great place to visit anyway  |

A liveable wage (and work visas) for expat teachers ended with the revolution.
