I assure you that I have lived anything BUT a sheltered life before coming here; already got that period of my life where you drink til you drop out of my system. It's so, well, high school/freshman year of undergrad.

Just yesterday there was an assault on my compound, as a result of one person consuming too much homemade alcohol. There is no way to tell the alcohol content of these bathtub jin products. You have an influx of people here who think they know what they are doing when making their own brew, and buying their circle of friends through selling their product. MOST OF THEM DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Using bakers yeast instead of "brewers" yeast is a huge red flag. I would rather drink petrol. At least THAT is plentiful here.

I'm sorry to say that some of the people who've come to KSA are in fact 'societies rejects'! Sad

Notice in my post I made the subject "some" and used the perfect form of the Anomalous Finite "may".

Such linguistic refinements seem to have passed some of our dear readers by !

Painting everyone who drinks alcohol in the kingdom with the same brush is keeping with the blinkered realities of our hosts here in the good kingdom isn't it? Here there's an eagerness to condemn people, to call names, and even do much worse.

Apparently we have some of those very good folk on this forum.

Everybody here just needs to take a deep breath and take a genteel sip of glorious vodka.

There! Doesn't the world seem so much better now?

the breathing idea you suggested is good, but may be hard for some to just sip the vodka, I mean glorious vodka

That is just to warm us up. After a toast or two, shot glasses can be emptied in one gulp. But always, always do this with lashings of caviar in between shots. A taste explosion that cannot be matched, which also helps us to keep our heads...

Dear rollingk

Umm, who's doing that? The OP specifically mentioned alcoholics, and I don't see anyone painting "all drinkers in the kingdom with the same brush."
All alcoholics are not just "drinkers," and most drinkers are not alcoholics.

Dear Grendal,

Hey, no "sorry" needed. You're a drinker, not an alki. Not every drinker knows the difference, but every alki does.

"with booze you loose" - and without it, you're tight, right? Very Happy

Regards,
John

Yes, this is what the OP specially mentioned John, but seemed to me people were getting a little carried away, denigrating people for a bit of foolish behavior. Course I could be wrong, and you can certainly be right if you want. Actually, I think I'll toast your being right all the time.
Very Happy

Dear rollingk,

"Actually, I think I'll toast your being right all the time."

I won't drink to that. Very Happy

Not only because I eschew intoxicating beverages these days, but also because my wife would die laughing if she ever stumbled upon this thread.

Regards,
John

Dear Johnslat

I'll drink to you, for having the wisdom to know that sometimes you may not be right! Unlike me, who is always correct about everything!!

Hic!!

With Communist greetings

I have heard that Vodka and alcohol in general may damage your liver, and may develop serious brain disorders.
