One thing I kinda wish I did was wait until I arrived before buying a year subscription to my VPN (Vypr). In the end, I was able to get 11 months of it refunded because it simply just did not connect, dammit. Might be an issue with the school's connection, China Unicom, my geographic area...who knows.
I demoed Astrill (free for seven days without credit card), which everyone around me uses, and have since more or less forgotten about the Great Firewall of China. |
