Yes your honour my client has made a mistake, but please take into account his tireless work (went to an annual meeting once) for disabled children, our glorious servicemen, orphaned donkeys etc |

I pointed out that Clarkson does some good whilst that actress doesn't.
JoeKing wasn't particularly polite about me, which isn't a problem, but when he disses a charity like that, he's in the wrong. |

This is a disgrace. Your parents should be ashamed.
To be a patron of a multi-million Pound charity is more than going to an annual meeting once. If you can find a quote of Clarkson justifying his actions by his charitable work, show us. I'm the only one who's mentioned his charity work, so if I were you I'd delete your garbage above. What have you ever done of a charitable nature? |

Like most people who've done things for charity I don't use it as part of a cynical PR self-promotion strategy.
Seems you have little knowledge of how people like Clarkson and his chum Cameron operate.
I hope you've genuinely forgotten a previous thread (where you again launched into some childish tirade) that I mentioned both my parents have passed away. You commented on that fact at the time and it isn't that long ago. |

Damn, I was hoping I was finished with this thread, thinking I had gotten my point across, whether you agreed with it or not.
For the record, I never dissed the charity, just the fact that you thought that it gave him a free pass to say racist things.
I never actually was impolite to you - I even went out of my way to state that I was not suggesting you were a "bad guy". Yes, I did try to have some fun with your position, because I thought that "you just didn't get it." I still think that!
One more thing. How do you know the actress does not do charity work of her own, but anonymously and without fanfare?

Is that REALLY what you thought you were doing Hod? Because it certainly doesn't read that way. It sounds as though you are questioning why she had the temerity to object to him being a vile racist, when she should have been talking about the great charity work he does instead. A lot of people are sick of publicity seekers such as this unknown Indian actress. Her own country is far from prejudice free, and I’m sure she has been to her lawyers about this too (not). She’d be a laughing stock and even more unemployed. Better to pick on a risk-free easy target.
Removing the fringe arguments, I’d sum it up as:
1. Clarkson was out of order with the “slope” joke.
2. Unknown Indian actress needs the publicity. |

A lot of people are pretty sick of (and sickened by) that too. But there is no denying that it works for him, so he's unlikely to stop any time soon, and he's certainly had plenty of mileage out of this one. |
