More than three months later, there's been something of a development today.
Our visa application was rejected. I already went to Korea for one day while waiting for the thing to come in (no problems at immigrations in Japan itself, although the Peach people in Korea gave me weird looks and made me sign a form saying I'd pay for my own ticket elsewhere if I was denied entry back into Japan), and today we got a letter basically saying "DENIED." Shiiiiit.
It's all hands on deck and the solution we've come up with... well, I'll not bother you with the gory details, but suffice to say it's drastic to say the least. But supposedly it worked for the guy I replaced, so there's some hope.
The job itself is fine, by the way. It has its ups and downs, and less than a handful of the grade schoolers I'm teaching I want to murder, but 95% of all kids and adults are great, and every one of them seems to like me as well so that's nice. |
