Peel Burley (not his real name) has felt the need to defend himself.

The word is that he may have incriminated himself in the process.

I understand that Burley has been getting it in the neck from the other Heads of Dept. because of the poor linguistic performance of the students.

An email has appeared (presumably leaked) on the internet written by Burley trying to defend his position.

He appears to blame everybody else, from Mother Teresa to Bambi, for the state of his department, save for himself.

Most appalling of all, and stated in his own defence, he says that last semester he made many of the teachers work in excess of their contracted hours. In one case, a teacher was working 33 hours a week - 9 hours more than the legal limit.

Burley states that none of the teachers complained. I bet they never, they were too intimidated by him, and they feared for their jobs.

The man has, by his own admission, breached Saudi Labour Law repeatedly. The Saudi Labour Ministry is walking distance from the TTC on
Khorais Road.

A kindly teacher should take that walk and shop him for what he is doing. He is abusing the goodwill of decent teachers. The charlatans who he promoted to be teamleaders will also be running scared.

Not to labour the point, TTC is run by a GERMAN company in receipt of large amounts of tax payers money. There must be an accounting for the activities of a company (Giz) which allows this kind of cowboy behaviour to go on unchecked.
