Anyone got any experiences of working at EF Menteng/Gunung Sahari?
Those people who say 'I don't know why everyone works for EF etc..'
have you lot got any advice as to where to pick up jobs in Jkt from OUTSIDE Indonesia?
I think it's true that you see their ads everywhere and it is a known entity, even if it does get slagged a lot. It just seems so convenient, especially if you after something quickly. |

Convenient until you realize that you have to spend 40 hours per week in a little building with 90 members of staff and 6000 students for a crappy salary. The staff b itching (guaranteed) is a load of fun too.
I stongly recommend the inconvenient route to employment in Jakarta. Take your time, get a good job (with proper health insurance) and save a lot of stress and heartache in the long run. |

Yes, an amusing little ditty that one. Some EF's in Jakarta and probably all of this sullied globe, have a McDonalds very nearby. They just blend into one big assembly line of hamburger meat. Teachers and students alike flit gaily from one to the other, sometimes ordering a burger from the front desk staff of EF or practising phrasal verbs with some poor burger flipper in McD's. I must stop thinking about it - my post traumatic stress syndrome is coming back. All those months of therapy!! |
