Gordon, I'm just catching up on this...such great news and then a a different feeling altogether to hear of the little one's fight. My wife and I wish our best to you and hope for the best.

There is a little song they sing here on birthdays for children. I posted the lyrics here. you can hear background musci to it at this link. http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kidspan/lyrics/mananitas.htm

I second what everyone else has said & am reposting this song because it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard for birthdays. Please sing this song to your little one or say it softly to him. My prayers are with you at this time.

Thanks everyone, I do mean that sincerely. Both my wife and Noah are home from the hospital now and doing well. Noah will go in for more tests this week, but he is looking really genki. Hard to believe he is not 100% healthy.
Thanks for the prayers everyone.

A little update: Had another sonogram done and the 6 holes in his heart have gone down to 3 or 4. This has certainly made our spirits rise. Hopefully his heart will continue to heal and at this rate.
Thanks everyone for your kind wishes and prayers.

Here is the latest news on my little son, Noah. In case you haven't been following this thread, my son was born a month ago with 6 small holes in his heart. We went into the hospital today for another sonogram and the doctor said the holes had almost completely filled in. The holes were barely perceptible and very little blood is flowing between the two ventricles. The doctor also told us that he would never need surgery. As expected, we are overjoyed.
Furthermore, Noah has been packing on the weight. He has gained about 1.2 kgs or 2.5 lbs in the last month. That's about 35% of his body weight. Shocked

Glad to hear that all is well, Gordon. So, are you getting any sleep at all yet, or is that fast growing boy of yours still an eating machine who wakes everyone every second hour? How is his sibling adapting?

If you call 1 hour on, 1 hour off sleep, than I guess we are getting some. My daughter loves her brother and is coping well considering the amount of attention she receives has dropped considerably. She is waiting until he gets to be "more fun" and can then play with him.
