just to update, the student who committed the latest violation on my computer has emailed me apologizing profusely for his transgression and wondering when i'm coming back to teach them. the apology was nice (altho i detected the heavy hand of the administration in the language), but i'm now in thailand working on a new project that i hope will be more fruitful than my nearly three years of esl teaching.
roadrunner.... students wanting to talk to a foreigner is one thing. snooping in someone else's hard-drive (and knowing exactly where to go to look for things of interest) is something completely different. these 16 year old students havent been shut out of the world as you claim.... for most of their lifetime china has been "open" to the world. i dont buy your explanation. |
