Okay, so now that we've gone from criticizing point card culture, to criticizing lunchbox for criticizing point cards, to criticizing canuck (and possibly his other personae) for not appreciating the satirical nature of lunchbox's criticism, I think we should now direct our criticism to those who lament the excessive criticism, yet ironically foment further criticism through lengthy analysis of other people's criticism.
And to cover my own ass, I reserve the right to declare the above statement mere satire in the event that it draws criticism. |

I half agree with lunchbox here. Point cards do my nut, a few months ago I did a purge of my wallet and tossed out dozens of the damn things, for obscure restaurants and shops that'll I'll almost certainly never visit again. It drives me mad in the supermarket getting asked all the time, but then most supermarket workers are programmed drones who can't compute well enough to figure, 'hey this guy comes here every day, and he never has a point card, perhaps I should stop asking him, or he'll think I'm a mindless drone'.
Saying that I love my Cocos card even though I have to go there about a 100 times to get 500 yen off, and the other day I had a free net session because I'd acrued enough points on my Net Cafe card, without ever realising I'd done so. And I'm seriously considering getting a point card for Yamada Denki, especially now NTT have fuked up my computer with their dodgy internet connection.
Rock n roll,
Chris |
