| In fact, Thomas Jefferson had contempt for the bible. |
Jefferson had contempt for the miracles or the superstitious side of the bible...in his bible that he edited..he left only one miracle ..that was about a child..and it could be that he had a soft spot for that one due to his own loss... |
If actions speak louder than words, obviously Jefferson had contempt for those portions of the Bible that advise against adultery and also against abandoning your offspring. Jefferson should have added another miracle: the miracle that DNA could finally prove what he long denied, yet everybody knew was true -- that he fathered a child with his slave, Sally Hemings.
Jefferson had such a reputation for conducting extra-marital affairs that the president of Yale University said that Jefferson's 1804 re-election "would make our wives and daughters the victims of legalized prostitution."
And we wonder about these other Christian clowns like Jesse Jackson, the Bakers ad infinitum? |

Nothing to wonder about.
All men have fallen short of the glory of God, even you and me!
The one thing I detest more than anything else is one who holds hinself out to be holier than thou. |

No, not I. It's impossible ... because there is no god. God is a myth. |

Then why do you hold yourself out as a God, better than all other men, the epitome of morality, able to judge all beneath you and your high moral standard? |

I know English is difficult so please let me make it simpler for you.
One can not "fall short of the glory" of something that does not exist. There is no god. God is a figment of your imagination, often used by those who believe as a crutch, and religion is, as Marx so aptly described it, an opiate. How can one fall short of the glory of a myth?
If, as you misunderstood, I hold myself out to be a god, then how could I claim god doesn't exist? Think about it.
Oh, and "high moral standards" are most definitely not synonymous with religious piety or faith in a god. Just as there are theists of whose moral integrity we should be envious, there are an equal, if not greater, number of atheists who exhibit high moral standards. The only difference between the two is the atheist does not perpetuate a lie about the existence of a god. |

If there is no God to blame for your existence, then do you accept personal responsibility for being such a pompous self-righteous jerk?
BTW we have met. I know you so do not protest that you are not. |
