| As a child in primary school, we had to swear an oath to God, Queen and Country every morning. We sang God save our Queen and the Australian anthem. I remember going to England when l was five to visit the relatives and l was happily going around singing God save our Queen and my English aunt told me never to sing it in public as people could get quite angry. I thought it a bit odd at the time. However, l also was amazed how sandwich and language sounded so similar around the same time, aswell. |
