What about how now this has been applied to the forums? I can't see any messages when I load a page, just the top part. Frustrating, and not the best design...

Yeah, when used on the forum pages it really looks bad. In adition to having to scroll down every time you click a link, the margins are all off.

It's a little intrusive, but it does give you more link options out of the country forums now.
And you get that great photo of Dave looking over you as you write a post! |

Some of the text is violet and other bits are still blue. Inconsistent design that's not real user-friendly. Not a good way to refurbish a site, imho.

I agree that it's a bit frustrating now that it has been applied to the forum pages. I don't like having to scroll down just to see the index! At first I thought the page hadn't loaded correctly, because all I saw were the same images from the home page.

The excessively large banner on the top aside, the small font size and the purple font color makes it hard on the eyes -- specially after a day of teaching 60-70 students.

He seems to have given up on having it on the forum pages. I had already used adblockplus to get rid of most of it, but at least now I don't have to see all the white space it left at the top.

Yes, it is good to know we're being heard. I like this new smaller banner a lot, its a nice compromise and looks good.

Well, if he's reading this, then I'd suggest that graphically speaking, the flashing banner ad would look better above the top menu.
