I don't think I'm so much a Davesaholic as I am an egoholic or vanityholic.
I just like to hear myself say things and give unneeded advice to people who could probably care less what I have to say and I delude myself into thinking what I have to say may be of importance to someone or indeed even read and not just skimmed over.

Sometimes I think back to the good old days when I could really get the flames buring on the old forum. Funny how people listen more to the offensive and arrogant.

So I'll be honest - I'm addicted to myself. When I come here the first thing I do is go to "my posts" and read what people had to say about what I said.

Ego ego ego.

Am I a Daveoholic? Well my meger post record may suggest that I am not however in respects of my dependency on the website then maybe I am. I came to this forum to do 1 thing-to warn people off Simon Langauge Club-I feel I did that successfully on the China forum yet I remain. This webpage is one of my few links to the world of ESL. I needed it for work and then when I found a job I needed it for advice and now I am here because I like this site.

I am proud to say I am a non-using Dave-aholic.

That's right, I kicked.

And my life is better for it.

No more seeking validation from faceless user names.

Jeez... I thought you were describing me. For once I thought "there is a guy why truly understands me". What a bummer! Anyway

Hi, my name is... and I'm a Daveaholic.
Hi....
Once I was so addicted to what bunch of losers had to say about nothing on the net, that I would systematically sneak out of the room, leaving my wife and friends in the middle of a get-together just to check briefly if anyone had posted anything new.

Had I continued this behavior, methinks I would've been out on my ass faster than I could type daveseslcafe.com.

Im glad I stopped Im coming honey!

I flew down to the end of the world (Punta Arenas, Chile) for the weekend to go snowboarding, only to discover that there was no snow. So what do I do instead? Find an internet cafe and immediately log on to Daves! Yikes! Get a life, woman! Crying or Very sad

No way, Paul. She probably will miss her big disposable income. But then it isn't always about the money. Rolling Eyes

I'm only a "Daveaholic" when I have actually got the time and my wife isn't around! Twisted Evil

Since the students are my school are having examinations right now, it means that I do not have to prepare anything for lessons - until late August, that is. This means that I can surf Dave's in the staff room, as each member of staff has his or her own workstation with a computer - no sharing of computers here! Then again, tomorrow and the next day, I have to conduct the dreaded speaking tests - "dreaded" by me, not the students! Sad

In the past week or so, I have been able to post more than 130 messages, so I guess that I am a confessed "Daveaholic"!

I do miss you guys! There are loads of little things that I miss--onsens, chu-hai, Mos Burger's rice burger, etc. And yeah, the income, but only because higher salary=more snowboarding.

I am having a ball down here, though.

Glad you're having fun Denise.

Chris, I just read your signature quote. Kind of ironic the guy died at 32.

Doesn't 'Daveaholic' imply that we're addicted to Dave himself or to the name Dave as oppose to the caf?
