What is this--the dream-vacation-destination-of-a-lifetime thread? Dash it all, I say; now I'll have to shelve my dream of an extended sojourn in Khartoum and head for the idyllic spots you have all extolled here.

Now I know somebody will come online and tell me how wonderful Khartoum is and how dare I show my ignorance of that glorious place..

The town near Buraidah with all the fast food is Oneizah, by the way.

The best hospital in Buraidah is probably the Sulaiman Habib. It's also one of the major ones in Riyadh, as you probably know.

Coime on you teachers out there in Buraida, Qassim, Uneyzah. Let us hear how it is.

Has anyone spotted "Brasscat" who was supposed to be teaching at the U of Q ? His many fans are worried about him.

I don't even know who brasscat is and therefore don't much care (no offense) but word on the street here is that Qassim U has not been able to recruit full-time western lecturers. When they do, they pay SR 13K. So their EFL people are supposedly Indians and Pakistanis. But I am not the authority on this. As I said...word on the street.

Brasscat has been around other educational instutitions in the "Kingdom of Humanity". He was rumoured to be headed for Qassim but may have gone to the Planet Zog instead.

Did you have to post the inquiry on three different threads ?

Buraidah can be remarkably friendly even to a Connecticut Yank like myself. Young guys at the Hyperpanda checkout counters are so impressed and do thumbs-up for Obama.

Scott, my posts do not concern you if you cannot answer my question. So keep your rudeness to yourself.

Well, I have to say that I had the same thought at Scot... people don't come on here and read one thread, they read them all. Thus we all were stuck with reading the same question three times. To most of us... you were spamming the board...

Anyone who might know the answer would have answered you if you asked it once. This is rather basic board etiquette.

Al Californian, I don't think that scot47 meant to be rude to you. If you follow this board for a while, you will realize that he is a very important source of information on this board and he was only trying to inform you of the norms of posting on this particular forum.

S and B. It is that cigar. It intimidates lesser mortals.

Dear scot47,

Why be intimidated? As the late, great Dr. Freud once observed:

"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Smile

John
