Do not forget to add hot camel milk mixed with Zangabeel to your hot chocolate, it will help you to train yourself for the environment of the Magic Kingdom! Laughing
Good luck.

I swear I heard something about milk not being pasterised and that it was best to be avoided... Not even sure where it came from...

Do they sell skim milk in the local stores? In Korea they didn't but they prob do now...

Scot and others,

It is my first time in the Kingdom as a teacher but I was in Jeddah, Dahran & Riyadh over 20 years ago when most of you probably were still wearing uniforms at school, besides Ive spent years in Jordan travelling to Kuwait, all UAE, Egypt, Yemen, Lybia, and a few more years in Brunei so I honestly think I can have an opinion in some aspects of living in the Middle East Smile

By the way I would like to thank you all but specially Trap (sorry, Ill get my pals at KAU to buy you the ice cream) and John their time and effort and VS, Cleo and Desultude for their consideration and dedication as well

Hats off to you Very Happy

thanekerner is right---besides ME and Korae, what else is there? HK and Malaysia are quite the tough nut to crack, and Thailand is a negative savings situation, Viet may be a break even thing.

OK there's Taiwan and Japan too.

Europe for US citizens is pretty much out.

As long as you are not too far off the beaten path, there should be no problem finding pasteurized fresh milk - maybe not skim though. And if you are in the back of beyond, they will have the UHT boxed milk... normally in skim, lowfat, and whole milk. I assume that you are familiar with this kind of milk?? Most Americans who haven't lived abroad have no idea what it is and there is only one brand available in the US.

Well, I think when Uncle Scott was in the Magic Kingdom in the 70s (when some of you were sucking the fingers of their mothers! Laughing ), the locals used to live in tents, and have camels instead of Toyota Hilux, and drinking fresh camel milk instead of Coca Cola!

Dear Linda467,

I believe Scot was in Jeddah in the '70s - or at least somewhere in the Kingdom. I arrived in Jeddah in 1980.

We be OLD - We be GEEZERS. Very Happy

John

Dear Linda467,

"By the way, what is it that no one post their own photo, how come?"

Huh???? NCTBA uses his own photo - so does trapezius, and so do I (I'm not sure about veiledsentiments.)

OK, just kidding. But anonymity on these boards is prized by most since prospective (and current) employers have been known to browse these forums.

John
