But you are not a Japanese student. They are enamored with Americans more than any other nationality and fail to recognize that there are about 30 accents/dialects in the USA alone. Not everyone speaks as "clearly" as Tom Cruise.
What a lot of J students want is a foreign teacher, often to just gawk at, not to learn the language from.
Some are instead interested in British English, and they soon find out there is more than one dialect/accent there, too. It's more of a cultural fascination than a conscious thought about what the teacher should sound like "clearly" or otherwise. |

I didn't think that this was going to turn into such a thread. Oh my god!
Thanks again for those sticking their arm up for if I ever require assistance, greatly appreciated. I am in the process of scanning all my documents so I have them on hand to send when required.
