Not a selfish bastage - at least not 100% of the time.
BUT - a vehemently unrepentant carnivore.

Glad to hear things worked out for you Christine.
There sure are a lot of lonely hearts out there. Ladies, why don't you join a nice gym and start visiting the weight room on a regular basis? I have been doing that for years, and in these places have met most of my dates. But its always a struggle, as the men outnumber the women 10:1.
Hence my advice. Other benefits: look & feel better, eat more without gaining blubber, sleep better, more energy, less time in front of the boob-toob.
Any by the way, not all of us are looking for petite Barbie dolls. Viva la big girl! Viva la athlete!
Oh no! I am starting to feel like a sleek version of Doctor Phil. Yuk! |

In answer to the original question: not like me seems to be the answer |

I've lost count of how many times I have joined a gym in the past. Pumping iron just isn't my "thing". I'd rather go running or swimming for exercise. It's hard to meet people that way, but I don't really feel attractive when I'm all sweaty from a run so I suppose that's a good thing. |

Oh, and I forgot to mention another benefit for the ladies: pumping iron builds bone mass.
It can be anyone's thing, really. The key is not to start too gungho, and make sure your are doing everything with the right technique.
There really is no downside, whether you are 18 or 88. You don't know what you're missing, and who you're not meeting.
My 2 cents (1.5 $US) |

I met my last fling 'pumping iron' at the gym actually - nearly fell off the treadmill watching him do some sort of move I don't know the technical term for except that it looked damn sexy. <faints again> We dated for a while, and I still have the images of that well toned greek statue of a bod in my eyes (sigh) ... oh, and I was in the best shape of my life too |

Thanks Crazy Eagle for the congrats.. I'm still in the "honeymoon" stage I suppose, but it's been 1 month of sheer bliss so far..
As for the gym.. Hmm... In Poland I had belonged to the gym and went 2-3 times a week working the machines.. I love building that muscle!! and prefer it to the cardio machines (but I would of course do that as a warm up/cool down).
BUT, the gyms in Poland are very different (as are the men). When I went, usually there were a max of 5-8 people there! All men too, but usually young.. Teens.. And no matter what I do at the gym or whatnot, I will NEVER be one of those many tiny Polish girls! If they weigh more than 60kg, they believe they are fat--they aren't short either!
Anyway, I'm happy with my wonderful Swiss beau... Once I start working again (I've been waiting for the paperwork to come through from the German work office) I'm joining the gym here--got one picked out. For me, and no one else.. |
