Re: Adam's height.
If you go to Sri Lanka and climb Adam's peak, you'll find a large footprint left by Adam that would match a 20 meter man.
So, maybe the students are right. |
Could be a Yeti? Or Bigfoot? Or some local version? |

Maybe the yeti and bigfoot prints that you saw were babies...

| If they were babies, would they be walking on their own in the Himalayas and the Cascades? |

Questions are supposed to end in question marks or did they not teach you that in South Africa along with civility?
It's what it is! |

Isn't it interesting that in a whole thread of silliness, he only chooses to attack one poster? And this thread just screams out that it needs answers from someone on the ground RIGHT NOW!!
Misogynist? Or just a garden variety troll?
VS
(PS... if it starts with "My question is..." would it end with a question mark? Where is JohnSlat?) |

Now, THAT'S improper question properly put!
It hinges on style! |

Hang on! I wanna get back to Adam's footprint in Sri Lanka! And where the hell was Eve? Or didn't she get a visa? Or she was Canadian?
Come to think of it, how does a footprint survive 2,000 years? |

It's an "embedded question," and it's a noun cause (plus an adverb clause) functioning as a complement. So, no question mark, even if you reversed it and had the noun clause (plus adverb clause) functioning as the subject:
Why someone like VS keeps butting in as she has not ben (sic) there for at least a decade is my question.
My question is whether Honolulu Lou (an apt user-name, actually, since he/she seems to be quite a lulu) would care to point out to us any instances where veiledsentiment's posts on the Middle East have been factually inaccurate.
She not only spent extensive periods of time there in the past, but she has a good number of very reliable people there now that she keeps in contact with.
So, Honolulu Lou - does that answer your embedded question? And I await your answer to mine. Fortunately, my long stay in the Kingdom helped make me a very patient guy because I suspect I'll be waiting until hell freezes over.
Regards,
John
Dear posh,
And where's Eve? Why, buried in the Garden of Eden, of course.
"The Tomb of Eve, also known as Eve's Grave and Eve's Tomb, is an archeological site located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2129′31″N 3911′24″E). It is considered by some Muslims to be the burial place of the Biblical Eve of the Abrahamic faiths. Richard Francis Burton mentions seeing it in The Book Of One Thousand Nights And A Night. The site was sealed with concrete by the religious authorities in 1975 as a result of pilgrims praying at the tomb."
Regards,
John |

Adam was more than 2000 years ago, this isn't J the C.
This was an epoch when giants roamed the earth, both divine and mortal.

Considering that we can name the pharaohs who reigned 5000-6000 years ago, apparently it is a whole lot longer.
But, I'm forgetting that dinosaurs were around at the same time as JC. Pathetic lack of education and basic knowledge these days around the world.

VS,
You're skirting close to theological issues here which may bring the wrath of G-D down upon us.
You do remember the recent evangelical debacle, don't you? |
