Edex should get ready to shut shop and say goodbye. They have lost their lucrative Dammam university PYP contract. Their wasta is now almost non existant.

If anyone wants to know the new KSU PYP contractor then message me. It hasn't been announced officially yet.

Can I get that info? I would appreciate it!

The new Dammam contracter is QEHC. Out of the frying pan into the fire. It doesn't sound like EDEX was really that bad after all.

There is word going around around ICEAT employees telling them to make sure to tell the new company off the bat that they will not agree to a lower salary. I am sure enough employees are already on the brink of leaving with just the uncertainty of a new company.

Yep. No doubt any new contracts with KSU will go to the lowest bidding contracting company, which means salaries and bennies offered to new and returning teachers are likely to be lukewarm.

KSU wants to save money, so they'd be interested in the company that provides the most bang for the lowest rates. In other words, these companies are competing for a contract to provide staffing services to KSU for X number of years for X number of KSU's riyals --- they're not bidding for an expensive race horse. KSU will go with the contract that won't cost the university a lot of money. (We all like to buy things when they're on sale. Wink )

Hi all, I've accepted a role KSU through al hussan, it's there a possibility that they may lose their contract in the future?

Of course. Their contract is finishing next year. I can tell you that it is a very generous one. Unless there is a sudden increase in revenue (oil price) I am positive they will lose it next year. Mark my words,

Don't worry about losing the contract. One year is a long time in Saudi. Enjoy it while you can.

I think oil is expected to stay largely below 50 per barrel. That's what I have gathered from sources that seem to be the most independent, but wait........... the Saudis have an alternative to oil, or at least Inshallah Laughing

Ok guys..it is official now, As I told everyone via PM, the new KSU PYP contractor is the Saudi British Centre. Also known as SBC. The new contracts are peanuts but I'm sure the desperate and the Muslims won't mind,

Good luck all.

Hah! Don't forget the numerous Mosques and Islamic centres in good ol' London. In all honesty, they are very nice guys but their teaching credentials and experience are often always non existent or not related.

I'll be flying over to KSA in about 2 weeks, I think 1 year of job security is more than enough for me, if I decide to stay in KSA longer I will look around for alternative employers if KSU does get rid of Al-Hussan for a lower paying recruiter.
