Moonraven: I'm too tired to read all the posts. Who should I shoot at?

Ha!

The idea of throwing women into combat practice after 10 days of boot camp was one of the reasons I blew the whistle on the army.

No one in the Army would ever call it "boot camp." That's for the Navy and Marine Corp.

There's only one way to enter the military as an E-6. You need a degree in a specific field (most every other degree with get you a commission). What's your degrees in?

So why not make me a major--their "out" was because I have two graduate degrees and shouldn't have been a sergeant.

This conclusively proves that you have a mental illness. I don't care if you have 5 BAs, 3 MAs, and 2 doctorates. No one is ever promoted directly to Major, Stupid.

At this point I'm not sure why I'm bothering... clearly you were never in the military. Does it really matter? Maybe not to the average person on this board that will go along with the crowd and say "Support the Troops" but have no real conviction behind these slogans. Or, are secretly happy about the recent abuses of soldiers back home simply because they made the mistake of wearing their unit's T-shirt to a concert, foolish enough to actually think Americans (on the left) actually supported them. It does, however, matter to me. Am I fighting to prove to myself? I don't need to, I know you're a liar. Do I want to inform everyone else you're a liar? Not anymore.

Moonraven,

Oooops. Upon rereading I see that you understand me all too well.

CS: It's clear you did not get the point of my post about the Army--which is that all the chain of command and by the book b.s. goes out the window when confronted with someone who is going to expose them. A simple promotion probably would have solved their problem if I had been a different kind of person.

What's also clear is that YOU were never in the military.

So this 'raven haired moonie' spent 11 days in the military.....and considers herself qualified enough to lambast other people who 'were never in the military.

I once prepared Salads for 2 days in the University of Essex kitchens....

Does that make me a chef.... Shocked Shocked ??

Try reading the thread before you shootoff your keyboard about what I was or was not doing. Your ignorance is sowing in day-glo.

I guess I did miss that point. Here's your original post/lie.

I don't wear bandanas, mesmerod--nor necklaces of any kind. Lots of tuquoise rings, though.

FYI, I have an honorable discharge from the US Army--from when I infiltrated it in 1976 to get a story on integrating women in combat. I used to keep it over the back of the toilet in the bathroom.

I can't seem to find that point. Maybe it's here:

Even though I don't know what he looks like, I can just imagine mesmerod stumbling around the shifting sands of some Mid-East conflict area in baggy camouflage fatigues, clutching an UZI--with his bullet-sprayed canteen dribbling out its water supply behind him.

On second thought, mesmerod--better forget about buying those Venezuelan bonds. You'll be better off staying put.

Gee whiz. I guess I still can't find your point.

Seven years US Navy (military police, NEC: 9545).

He always does. What I find peculiar, also, besides his being a non-teacher yet ubiquitous on this forum, is that he thinks he has the right to initiate harangues without having the faintest idea of what he is talking about.

Must have been his imagined military stint as an MP that did it: he thoughts 45s were little records until someone pointed one at him. Come to think of it, that might have been me, pointing.

And what is the point? MR said he had an honorable discharge from the US Army, and recently claiming the point of bringing it, I guess, to boast how he pulled one over on them. I never made an issue of him pulling one over on them. I knew he wasn't in the military and I made an issue of that. So HTF does his point have anything to do with what I brought up? Who cares what his point is? Here's my point:

1. It's physically impossible to get an honorable discharge after 11 days. You need 2 years of continuous service, minimum.

2. He wasn't an E-6. Only those with a degree in Music are promoted to E-6. No one in the Music program has anything to do with combat training.

3. No one in history was ever offered a promotion to major directly out of "bootcamp" as she calls it, regardless of any qualifications or education.

How does his point change any of what I just said? Stupid, do you even begin to realize the flaw in logic? Probably not. Who missed the point, Stupid?
