It's more about not telling people bad news at times. For instance instead of telling you they don't know they tell you something else.
I just got off the phone with a student who befriended a couple who were mormons. He had talked with one of the new foreign teachers and they had told him how bad the mormons were and he was confused. I told him they were good people who didn't smoke drink or take coffee. It is confusing for Chinese that we can be different or say bad things about other foreigners. They are taught to follow only on path and to exit the one way of thinking can get you into big trouble. |
