$2500 = about 1700 Euro.

Bearing in mind the much lower cost of living in KSA, and the fact that rent, most transport and other expenses will be taken care of, you should be able to save, though as NCTBA says, it's not a great salary. Also bear in mind that the $ is sinking steadily against the Euro - heading for 1.50 around now - so in Euro terms, your salary will drop accordingly.

I understand that its not an amazing salary but I am only 22. I have a BA, no Masters or Post grad as I wanted to gain some experience before I committed to a Masters. I plan to volunteer and travel and teach for a couple of years after this year. At least for 32,000 I'll have a years experience to add to my cv and savings to travel.

Hopefully I can get out there soon. Just waiting on my contract to arrive Very Happy

Executive MBA, great. What kind of TESOL certificate? If your teaching experience was in EFL and the TESOL qualification is good one, you should seek not less than SR13,000++ to start. And that's for universities, which generally pay less than corporations with military contracts. Of course, ignore language schools.

Considering the poster doesn't have an MA, I would say he'd be lucky to start at SR13,000. Particularly if his teaching experience isn't at university level, and if he doesn't have a full CELTA.

But he could do very well applying to teach business at a university. Non-ESL teachers make much more money, and he should be in demand if he also has ESL experience and credentials.

You would do a lot better looking for work in the UAE or even Qatar. In the UAE, try the Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, or UAEU.

So you will get a housing allowance in addition to the 2000SR salary? That is indeed generous. As a long-time Riyadh teacher, I too am curious to know who is paying such excellent salaries, and also if they have a female section!

I am confused about something, so please will you explain this to me. If I am getting paid in Saudi Riyals and the US dollar drops, won't I make more US dollars, not less?
