This forum helped me with two most important issues, getting my docs apostilled and getting permission to work independently. I found no better single source of information. |

That sounds like a good plan Prof Gringo.
I know for me would probably make sense as I would need to return every 180 days anyway to the US.
That being said, isn't it somewhat easier to find a job that pays under the table? as opposed to going through all of that "imigrante temporal con work" ? |

Not really. It used to be a lot easier than it is now. With the rules changing it might go back to the bad old days. But just out of curiosity, why do you feel that it is OK to work illegally, and so blantantly that you post on the public bulletine board. |

I don't think that I said that it would be ok at all to work illegally.
What I did say was: "for me would probably make sense as I would need to return every 180 days anyway to the US"
I went on to ASK the question: "isn't it somewhat easier to find a job that pays under the table? as opposed to going through all of that "imigrante temporal con work"
Can I ask are you really a teacher? |

That's the very last question you should ask when inquiring about the odds on employability as an illegal alien. Usually, people look for contacts and friends to help them jump the hurdles, instead of making the job more difficult. |

You're correct, it just seemed from what I had read in previous posts that it is uncommon in Mexico in particular for Language Schools to even help you obtain the Work Visa. I felt that the previous Poster was insinuating something that I did not write. At any rate, I did not intend for that to be the implication of my original question. |

I personally know two teachers who were deported for working illegally in Mexico. It was a long time ago, but it is a possibility.
The rules changed last fall and things are still in a kind of transition, but it's generally not that hard to work legally in Mexico. So why would you risk being deported?
Prof. Gringo's post was misleading because he left out the reason why he only cares about the tourist visa. But I'm not going to speak for him to tell you why. |
