This whole thing makes me sick. The supreme court ruled last year that there basically are few restrictions on big money in a campaign. So billionaires like the ultra right wing Koch brothers can spend $200 million and shut down the government. Not to mention the NRA can spend $400,000 and unseat 2 Colorado legislators who voted for gun control.
I had been wondering if I had made the right decision about being a TEFLer, living overseas, but these recent events cured my homesickness. Glad I am not there. |
