No, I do believe Iraq and Saudi accept distance degrees, just Taiwan and one ministry in UAE (one we wouldn't want to work for anyways). Taiwan has never done much for me. |
Gordon
in case you missed the irony, I was counting on not coming home in two pieces from working in Iraq. White guys there or any foreigner has a target painted on them. |

Hi Paul,
Can you provide me with the link showing that I've told Gordon that I dropped out of USQ?
Thanks.
Gordon,
Do you also have the link where I tell you that I've dropped out of USQ? |

At the doctoral level it's extremely imporant to get the right supervisor. Someone who you can do the whole 'mentoring' thing with. |
An example of 'mentoring' at the 'doctoral level':
"I don't much like the beginning of Chapter 2 yet...perhaps a quicker focus on the task at hand?"
Yeah, comments like that--sent in an email, no less--are what made the "mentoring" experience so "extremely important." And don't forget these articles from the Chronicle:

You aren't getting this and that is a real big part of being in residence and attending meetings and conferences, getting a first-hand look at how academicians work together and being introduced to influential people in the field. |
Most of the faculty in my department didn't even talk to each other! (And from what I've heard at other PhD programs, that's pretty standard....)
Yeah, I'm really glad I was on campus for this "experience"....
Glenski, you're right, this guy is a total troll....
Still, thanks for the laughs! |

Obviously you must know if you are still in the program or not.
a simple 'yes' or 'no' will suffice. |
