Funny thing about Harley Davidson biker bars though... The one we had in my hometown was probably just about the safest bar in the city! Provided you didn't walk in wearing rival colors (or anything you might see in Sears Catalog) everyone would leave you alone -- something that would never happen in any of the other bars in town.

Everyone knew that everyone was packing (or had a buddy who was) so as a result everyone was happy to leave everyone alone. Smile

Too bad that doesn't hold true to the Internet...

Don't let Paul put you off. LJ is way tamer than it used to be. You're far more likely to get the real deal over there than in here imho.

Fucked Gaiajin can be pretty absurd, though some good discussions, though the board is not that active sometimes. I was more thinking of something 'younger', hint, hint. A real 'guide to Japan'
