Desultude, I respect somebody who can look at issues from various perspectives including their own statements! More should be like you. Some others on this board never miss an opportunity to claim Oh, it's the same or worse in the US! Personally, I submit it was same or worse during the Puritans' pilgrimage in the 1600s, when Harvard was a mere religious high school. Even then, however, the Puritans had a saving grace: like the modern Chinese, they were very much for hard work and rigorous education. And in the magical kingdom?? |

Thanks.
I was just thinking the other day that if one lives long and hard enough, the find some pretty daunting humility eventually. |

Any thing good, huh?
Well, I've been told by a very trusted source that the concrete that they poured for the buildings hardened up very nicely!

Yeah, but with a half-arsed foundation, cracks in the walls abound. It is just a matter of time. Buildings at Oryx have had to be abandoned because they are falling down. |

Yep! That's why I merely said "hardened up" instead of well-built. Even poorly poured concrete still get hard. Besides, that was the only "good" thing I could say!

Got it.
I can't think of a bloody thing good to say at the moment. And I have had seven months away from the place to mellow.

So I shouldn't be looking at PMU as my next place of employment, huh? |

Damn, the other thread got killed over an argument about English usage.
It will be interesting to see how many PMU refugees will be at the TESOL Arabia conference next week- hovering around the job fair.
Good luck to you! Honestly! If you have served time at PMU, you deserve something better this time around. |

| I suspect this thread is headed the same way as the other one - into that cul-de-sac that goes nowhere. |

Let's stay on topic, and maybe it won't be locked.
My effort in that direction is to note that not any new people, save one, have been posting here. Maybe everything is just peachy over East of Eden? |

Their internet connections probably don't work... and/or they fear that their posts could be traced.
We normally don't get the latest updates until people get out of the country... which is probably a good strategy.

A management stooge has just pm-ed me to say that I am being unfair to PMU, which just happens to be his employer.
PMU is a glitzy place and is full of the sons and daughters of the rich and the powerful. Especially the sons and daughters who could not get into other institutions on merit. |
