Obama - Spread the Wealth Around Joe the plumber

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZcEHLr4gBg

I know to most Europeans this sounds insane, but about 30% to 45% of Americans really don't want anything like the governments that exist in Europe to be emulated in the States.

Ok, I watched both of them (even though it's widely known that the Joe the Plumber one was a set up). In the first the slightly OTT reaction of the woman could be seen as a sign of her trust in Obama's ability to manage the economy or as a Obama is going to take the money from the rich to give to the poor. Also, as I alluded to it before: you can't take what the supporters say as fact.

In regards to the second video, Obama says he wants to spread the wealth to help those who are not as fortunate so that they can then help themselves. I don't know what the Fox News people go on to argue about. They're arguing against helping their fellow countrymen out because that would be unpatriotic, but surely improving the lives of everyone in your country, to help make your country a better place is a good thing to do? Obama's spread the wealth is mainly from the super rich to those who have a hell of a lot less to help them ease the burden.

EDIT: Also, 30-45% don't want a European style government leaves 70-55% that do.

The point was about the supporters statement and what Obama said. It is her valid opinion and obviously she believes it to be so.

"They're arguing against helping their fellow countrymen out because that would be unpatriotic, but surely improving the lives of everyone in your country, to help make your country a better place is a good thing to do?"

Again the Fox commentary was not the point, Obama's words were the point. He said he wants to spread the wealth, and many Americans find this concept offensive to the point of theft.

"But surely improving the lives of everyone in your country, to help make your country a better place is a good thing to do."

That is a wonderful sentiment. There is nothing preventing you from donating 90% of your income to those less fortunate. I encourage all liberals to act upon this value they have. Unfortunately they do not want to stop there with just their income, they want to force others to do the same, and there's the rub.
