Apparently KFUMP also seem to have a preference for 'white-skinned' candidates, so that acts as a barrier in their recruitment.

it is expensive even if a prospective FT is permanently in the UK, unless one can afford to take days off work to make the trip down to London. Hence many prefer the business visa option, but each to their own!

"Many" prefer the biz visit visa option? Confused I certainly wouldn't have gone to KSA on one considering the companies that tout them. Besides, that visa type is generally not always available as an option (as you're finding out).

KSA's employment visa requirements and process may not seem doable to you, but other countries are likely to follow suit (e.g., China, for one). It is what it is. Keep in mind, there also are job seekers faced with stockpiling enough money for startup costs and air fare when looking for work in other parts of the world. Heading abroad to teach can be costly either way. That' the reality.

Correct, but many still prefer that option, I did put at the end and meant it nicely, each to their own.

As for China, we are chatting in stereo about the visa situation there it would seem, would prefer to keep the discussion saudi visa based. I had enough of the stupid visa rules that got stricter and stricter post the 2008 olympics. I would never go back, wild horses and all that, but again, each to their own!

hmmm... and yet I have it that someone with a BA and CELTA+10 will only result in a monthly return of 13500 SAR with an MA being rewarded with a possible stellar extra 500.

bigger fish require bigger bait, no?

I have heard different figures banded about, but I have it on good authority that a BA + Celta + experience attracts a salary of 15,200.

Apparently, they won't consider an unrelated MA when calculating the salary.

Like the rest of Kfupm's recruitment process, the salary seems to be steeped in mystery.
