You got oil, beer and water. Mix them together and you got oily beer.

I suspect that more than a few folks find the discussion of beer prices a lot more interesting (and relevant) than the original topic.

How much does it cost in Mexico then, Is650? A litre of Quilmes, a pi ssy white lager but surprisingly refreshing, costs around US 60 C in the supermarket and $1.80 in a bar/cafe and $3-4 in a poncey, pretentious bar (just the kind i like) down here in Buenos Aires. But i do really miss a good pint of London Pride and that, along with the biggest box of PG Tips they can carry, is what i ask friends to bring out with them when they come visit...

A six-pack of the local Mexican beers is usually about 42 pesos (say $4 US). My favorite brew here is one called Noche Buena. It's absolutely delicious - but unfortunately, it's only sold at Christmas time.

"back to the subject" maybe kinda sorta in a round about way, I made an observation today in TERRIBLE Dallas traffic on the freeway....the lanes were FULL of SUVs and the "high occupancy lane" was dang near EMPTY because all of these people were in these big gas guzzlers talking on their cell phones with the AC cranked up all-by-themselves....
Something is wrong with that picture. I want to always live in a place where mass transit is valued.

It isn't where I am at present.

I bought a Guinness or three at a London airport once and I asked the chap beside me if the price of the drink wasn't a bit steep. To this he replied...."It isn't steep at bloody 6 in the morning"

Guinness makes for a decent breakfast....

Is650....Really??? A six-pack costs that much? Man!
I never really bought by the 6-pack but by the case...unless I was buying quitapones (are they still around)....Carta Blanca was my brand...Hecho en Monterrey, La Sultana del Norte...Well, how much is a caguama now? 42 pesos a six pack...Dude, this alarms me! That is darn near a US price.
Crisis, crisis !

A familiar is about 16 to 20 pesos, depending on the beer.

A sixer of the local brew here will set you back around $14.00.
And you can forget about the 1/2 cent redemption value for the can.

That might be due to local inflation in "is everything"
Tell people where you are maybe...even if it is assumed all know.

Wayell,
I'm from a state that makes Shiner Bock and gets Dos Equis Amber cheap....And a place where 14 bucks could get you two cases of Schlitz.
That is 48 beers !
I understand Myanmar beer is quite decent.
Can anyone attest to that?
Y'know, I have found the beers in places like Laos and Cambodia to be excellent...
I think that the quality of a nation's beer is a measure of a nation to some degree...
We Yanks make some good beers, but they are mostly from micro-breweries.
Cheers,
Nomad Dan
