Dear Madam J,

"Mostly I just want to stop people asking, 'Have you thought about becoming a proper teacher?' "

And asked by those of a similar mind:

"When are you going to get a "real job."

And to them the definition of a "real job" is anything (including shuffling papers all day or worse) that pays a lot.

Regards,
John

I thought a "real job" was anything that took place inside a cubicle.

Same here Naturegirl. I would teach high school but I prefer the college scene. Adults are more respectful when compared to the kids. Plus one is not really teaching if they are in an elementary school, it's more like babysitting.

I find it is an increasing trend within efl job advert sites online that the childcare industry is essentially swallowing efl. "Must love kids" is attached to many job ads now it seems.

There is more learning (of everything) that takes place between the ages of 1-11 than occurs during the entire rest of your life.

"Babysitting" is more than just guarding the prisoners or standing at the board and lecturing as you follow a powerpoint.

Thank Ghod you are not a teacher.
