You might enjoy checking out the "In Style" section of the Washington Post (May 6), in which there's an interview with this year's recipient of the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. In response to a critic's question, "Have you ever had a single UNpublished thought," Updike responds, "Yes. But there's still time."

Cheers,

I always marvel at John Updike's style. And his imagination. Unfortunately, it's been some time since I last came across a novel by him.
Where has this interview been published?

Roger, the interview is in the May 6th edition of the Washington Post, in the "In Style" section. A great resource for Updike is to be found in the NY Times archives, if you're a paid subscriber. Updike considered Nabokov the greatest writer, and, unsurprisingly, they share the same studied elegance. You might enjoy one his collection of essays, "Picked Up Pieces." Years ago, when my oldest son was in 7th grade at Kamehameha School in Honolulu, he started reading "Museums and Women," and couldn't put it down. By now he's read just about the entire output. I'm currently reading "Toward the End of Time." If there's a particular title you're interested in, risk Spinster Lindsay's Righteous 'Rath 'N Fury by posting it, and I'll bring it to Guangzhou in late August.

Cheers!
