Hi there. What kinds of jobs(and money) can you expect in Taiwan with a CELTA certificate? |

Thing about Taiwan is this...
How do you come across? Do you interview like a very high class, well-bred foreigner who is responsible? Have you ever lived in Asia before?
Most foreigners don't know what they can get away with.
There are certainly jobs you can get from overseas making 60kNTD (2000 USD) a month. Check Tealit, I got one there in 2010. I got one for a lot less in 2008...
But a lot of people get screwed in their first year.... If I had it to do over, I would land here and look for a job (outside Taipei) with boots on the ground, meet old birds, get some feel for it.
But then again, I started in 2008 and I didn't really know my arse from a hole in the ground. The employer assumed I was just another white guy on the sex tour of Asia that was looking for the next bush party, and they paid me accordingly... and I didn't know that was what was happening. Now, the same employer offers me substantially better pay to come back, since she sees me as a long-term safe bet.
Your question is pretty vague. What kind of work experience do you have in general? |

I know a lot about Asia. Seven years teaching in Japan and one in Shanghai. Eight years experience total. I knew people in Shanghai who said the money was a lot better than $2,000 a month. They also said that overall it was a great place to work and live. Thanks. |

A lot more possibilities in Shanghai as long as you have a degree. |
