I am still unsure where i would like to teach between these two places. for those who have experiences in both or either places, where would you prefer and why? am slightly favouring shanghai cos it seems harder to find work in taiwan. any advice much appreciated, cheers! |

Shanghai will almost certainly be more exciting. Taiwan usually pays more. If you have a valid degree then you can work in either place.
It really depends on how much money you need and what kind of cultural experience you are looking for.
Happy job hunting. |

If you want to make a lot of money you should come to Taiwan(you can make up to 80000 NT a month if you work really hard). If you want to know more about Chinese culture, you should go to Shanghai....but its going to be hard to find a job with lots of money and often visa will be a problem...a nice , well-paid teaching job in shanghai pays around 7000-10000 RMB (NT28000- 40000) and you sometimes need to go for visa run to hong kong and pay by the tickets by yourself...but the life there is exciting and you can meet all kinds of people from all over the world. |
