I dont know if anyone would know but......
If you marry a Taiwanese girl..
Do you still have to deal with Visa's and contracts... or can you just live and work in Taiwan as though you are in your home country?

Yes, you still have to deal with visas and contracts! Of course! Don't you have contracts back in your own country?
I have an ARC through my wife. This permits me to work anywhere, anytime, as many jobs as I like, legally. I have to renew it every year, unless I pay for three years (which I do). So my next renewal comes up in 2006.
Residency documents are a legal requirement in every nation. You can't escape them by marrying a local. |

Of course! Many Taiwanese females would be quite insulted if you called them a woman rather than a girl.

THANK GOD for that. It's nice to see political correctness hasn't run amok here like it has "back home." I can still remember back in the 80s when one of my UC Santa Barbara classmates threatened me with a LAWSUIT for calling her a "lady."
Whatever.
To score brownie points, try calling an old lady here a "girl" or "xiaojie." The ones who aren't too uptight will grin, uhhh, girlishly. The other day, someone called ME, an old fart who's pushing 40, a "boy." It made my day!

I never signed a contract working at home...
Thats how i like it... That way if i'm unfairly treated i can leave... it keeps my boss on his toes...
I thought if you married a local taiwanese woman you can work similarly.. Just work 9-5 and leave whenever you want.. with a months notice or so..
I would love to work without a contract.. |
