I just thought I'd highlight this absolutely shameful job offer, for a position in KSA. Exactly how low can these skanky employers sink? Apparently 8000 "Riayl" is an "excellent salary"! Ha!

Here it is:

Compensation
Total monthly package equal to 12,375 Saudi Riayl (3,300 USD) which breaks down as follows:
Excellent salary: around 8,000 Saudi Riayl (2,100 USD) per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
Flight to Saudi Arabia paid up front by the school
Housing allowance: 2,000 Saudi Riyal (500 USD) per month (25% of salary)
Transport allowance: 800 Saudi Riyal (210 USD) per month (10% of salary)
30 days paid holiday (to be taken after 12 months)
Legal work visa provided (fees paid by teacher)
 On-going training and professional development
 Airport pick up
 Full medical insurance
 Career development opportunities worldwide

I thought generally that schools pay much less and the deal's s'okay if you take into account the career development opportunities worldwide. (Giggle)

There are many jobs like this at the bottom end. In fact teachers recruited locally - especially married women - are on much lower salaries. Some international schools in Jeddah nd elsewhere will offer SR4000 a month for qualified graduate teachers.

Hehe, true. Perhaps an 'airport pickup allowance' of 50 riyals (receipts necessary) will be reimbursed instead? At the end of your 2-year contract, naturally...

As i'm quite ignorant on the terms of what is an 'excellent salary' when it comes to the KSA, what would be considered an 'excellent salary' for a graduate with a tefl diploma plus 2-3 years teaching experience?

Yes, you can get reimbursed up to 50 Riyals and London Taxi will charge you approximately 75 riyals to get you from the airport to Granada Mall or thereabouts. (exit 8 or 9)
