We are a small American-owned IELTS training center in HCMC. We currently have four trainers (3 Yankees, 1 Aussie) and are looking to expand this year. The business is quite unorthodox in that it is run like a teachers' collective. We all have our own classrooms (with our name on the door), and share equally and enthusiastically in the curriculum development. Having worked in many language "factories" in Vietnam, I set out to create a center which avoided all their shortcomings. We have basically eliminated the management tier of the business and tend to work on a horizontal plane. We're four trainers supported by one VN center manager handling the VN side of the business and 2 customer service personnel. Every day we share information about the IELTS exam and brainstorm ways to improve our teaching methods and curriculum content. We adhere to American business ethics and up to now, we have been able to procure a flawless reputation with VN students. We're very professional in everything we do and we will continue to work in this manner. Our goal is not to be the biggest language center in Vietnam, just the best.

At KTDC Group, we deliver top-notch professional IELTS training to our
students. Because of the long waiting lists to enroll in our courses,
we have recently expanded and are looking for one more trainer to join
our organization to ease the load. Both evening and daytime classes
are available. If you truly love teaching and consistently try to
improve your teaching methods, then maybe you will fit into our
family-like atmosphere. Being knowledgeable about the IELTS exam is a
requirement. Please be a native speaker from USA, Canada, Australia,
New Zealand, or the British Isles, thanks.

Benefits of this position:
1. salary starting at $35/classroom hour with potential to rise.
2. Your own classroom to teach, prepare lessons, and develop course
material (your name on your classroom door)
3. processing of work permit and resident card (shared costs)
4. classroom with laptop, quality sound system, projector, and modern
classroom furniture.
5. centrally located in district 1, HCMC.
6. Fun-loving colleagues and staff (7 people) who work hard but enjoy
an easy-going atmosphere at work.
7. Don't have to teach anyone under 16 years old. Yes I think that's a
benefit.
8. Teaching students who have a shared goal and in general, work hard
and participate.

Requirements:
1. You will be required to mark a lot of essays and reports.

2. Tailor-fitted shirts and trousers are required along with fashionable

shoes and hip ties for men and smart fashionable attire for women.

First take a look at our website: www.ktdcgroup.com

Please send all pertinent information to:

Ken Taft
[email protected]

* You MUST live in HCMC to be considered for this position.
* Only native speakers from USA, UK, NZ, Canada or Australia will be considered.
* Current IELTS certified examiners will receive special consideration.

Sounds like a good initiative on their part, and it does sound 100x better than the mill scene. I wish them well.

"Fashionable shoes and hip ties" maybe, but someone needs to tell Ken his suspenders are so 90's. Cool

Perhaps under the "requirements" part they should have stated the necessary experience required for the job, rather than having to have a good tailor to suit the school's corporate image. This is Asia though where style beats substance so they have the right idea.

Good luck to them, let's hope it beats the terrible mill scene.
